Lacie Roulet met me at 6 AM on my last morning at camp to do her shoot. While it was another double appointment, we had a bit of time and there was no need to rush (there was some rope work involved in the other shoot, shots forthcoming). It wasn’t quite another four-minute shoot, but it was fairly short with a very high wheat-to-chaff ratio, so there’s more Lacie coming.
This shot in particular was from the end of our shoot. When I used it to tease the creek shoots a few weeks ago, someone remarked that it reminded her of Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus“, I suppose due to the contrapposto of the pose and the watery setting and theme. I rather like that comparison.
Lacie was a lot of fun to shoot in those few minutes, smooth and graceful and confident, all a photographer could ever ask in a model. And we had a surprising amount of laughs in such a short time. I look forward to shooting her again, when we have a ton more time to work.
