Mica told me she suddenly got very nervous on the way over to shoot last week. It’d been about four years since I’d shot her (or seen her, for that matter), so I was terribly excited when she told me she’d like to do another shoot.
And truth be told her nervousness was obvious and apparent when she first got here. She was a little stiff and maybe a tiny bit awkward at first.
That lasted about five minutes, near as I can tell.
By about that time she’d forgotten her nerves and was so into the shoot I can’t even decide which photos to put up here, we got so many great ones. She was effortless and graceful, working the camera like she was born to it, slipping back and forth between elegant and demure to brazen and audacious. While the portrait of her in my previous post might be an example of the former, I think this shot of her in my white button-up borders on the latter.
I think what I really love about this shot is her facial expression. While there are very clear, and very sexy, implications elsewhere in the shot, it’s her direct gaze at the viewer, without hesitation or shame, that really compels me. She’s not asking permission, she’s granting it.
And that makes her, and this shot, just fucking sexy, I don’t care who y’are.
