I had some time to kill while waiting on some car repair action to take place the day before yesterday. I popped over to the community college at which I received my Associate’s Degree (Biology and Biology Education, if you’re wondering) and got to spend some time with my two favorite and most influential instructors. It was really good to see Doc, my first Biology professor. We did some hella catching up. My first English instructor, Bev (no, not that one) was in his office when I came by, too, and it had been several years since I’d seen him. Boy, was that just awesome, too. Of course he gave me shit for not getting my degree in English or Literature or something. Because he’s Bev. Of course he did. I was really excited to see him, too, since he’d always been out of the office or teaching on base or something every time I’d stopped by over the years. I love that man with all my heart.
I also got to hang out with Maren a bit, and there’s a surprise heading this way sometime soon regarding that visit. I’ll talk about that when the time comes, but it’d been forever since I’d gotten to hang out with her, too. I might have broken some of her ribs when I hugged her though (not really, but I was a bit excited).
And I spent some time up in the Croatan National Forest. It was a popular day to be there, it seems, and there wasn’t a lot of bird action going on. But I can always depend on the Yellow-rumped Warblers to come through in the winter, and they did not disappoint. I love these little guys.
