Every once in awhile, a shoot goes so perfectly that I get the shot I want exactly as it is in my head, and every once in awhile, I get a great shot within the first few frames. It’s pretty rare, however, when both of those things coincide. This was one of those times.
A few weeks ago, I restarted a 52-week photo challenge issued to me last year by my very good friend Wesley Elsberry. With everything I’ve got going on, I’d forgotten to post one last week, though I did shoot one and put it up in the Body Lines gallery, and even mentioned it here on the blog. I’m very proud of both the challenge project and the Body Lines project, and this latest addition in particular. I guess I just got a little over-excited about it, and again, I’ve got a ton of editing in my lap from the last few weeks, including a monster-sized baby shower, a model shoot with the ever-wonderful Sylva Jean, and of course the Tour de Cure. Slowly but surely, I’m catching up, despite the universe’s best efforts.
The very lovely model for this shot is Jez, who always brings a great deal of passion and pleasure.
This shot is a part of a 52-Week Photo Challenge, passed on to me by my friend Wesley. Once a week I will be choosing a theme from the list and posting a shot on that theme. You can view all my entries here in the 52 Week Challenge category.
To repeat the disclaimer, this is a project about re-discovery. It’s about remembering who I am, what I’m about, what I love and what I do not. Fair warning, this project will be posted here rather than at my SFW site because there will be nudity from time to time. Some of it will be of me, some not, some artistic and pretty to look at, some just raw.
I don’t intend to think of something every day and then shoot it, though I may do that sometimes, too. But sometimes I will just shoot, and then find something about myself in the frames and post about that thing, whatever it is.
