At the base of the Washington Monument on Saturday, I saw some folks playing with a volleyball, and the scene just caught my eye. It was a relatively warm day with plenty of sunshine, and lots of people took advantage of it. I spent most of it just walking around the touristy parts, skipping the long lines for the museums, and generally relaxing, blowing off steam, and enjoying the change in weather.
I have to give a great big shout out to Amy and Ben, dear friends who put me up for the last week or so. They were quite awesome in every way. And to Twanna, who met up and hung out with me a couple of times. We stopped into Urban Butcher for a glass or two of wine later on Saturday, and it was really good to see her, too.
Fist bumps all around.
