Travelogue: Boston to Upstate New York

I left the Boston area on Friday, leaving one of my dearest friends, Elizabeth, to go to upstate New York to visit with another of my dearest friends, Meghan.

I went to Maine once as a kid, and we traveled up I95 to get there. 95 doesn’t go through Vermont, but I sort of maybe vaguely recall we might have gone down to Vermont to say we’d been there. Since Vermont was sort of up in the air as to whether I’d ever visited, it was nice to travel through the state, at least, to make sure I’ve checked that box. I’m kind of hoping to visit all 48 of the contiguous United States for no particular reason, so I had to take a few shots at the first rest stop I came to, which is my habit.

On my way through Vermont, I came across a little town called Wilmington, and since Wilmington, NC is a place I miss very much, well, I had to get a picture of the sign. I also got stuck in traffic right in front of the Wilmington Inn, so I couldn’t resist grabbing the camera from Gypsy’s passenger seat and taking one quick shot.

I made it to Meghan’s safely, and without incident, and it was a lovely reunion. It’d been over a year since I’d seen her, and we did a lot of laughing and catching up for the few days I was there.
