After a night in Viento State Park, I headed north to Goose Lake, Washington, for a night. My hope was that I’d get to see Mount Adams and Mount St. Helens.

Some of my best views turned out to be right from my tent, and didn’t include either mountain.

And I got a nice look at this Western Tanager, despite his best efforts.

I only ever got a small peak at Mount St. Helens, but I eventually did get a couple of nice views of Mount Adams.

Leaving the next morning, I had to backtrack quite a bit, nearly all the way back to Portland, on my way to Seattle. Along the way, I finally got my first clear view of Mount Hood.

I never did see Mount Ranier, though I thought I’d get a look along the way. I’m a little disappointed about that, but Seattle soon grabbed my attention and held it well enough.
