One of the extra mornings I got to spend with Gretchen in Colorado, I took her birding in Rocky Mountain National Park. This little cutie patootie was begging to have his picture taken. He’s a Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel.

Just for fun, I put the birding lens on the top of Long’s Peak.

And what the hell, I aimed it at the moon, too.

But y’know, we were there to look at birds, so I shot some of those as well.

It was a beautiful day for birding, and I always love taking someone out for their first time.

Also, of course, Gypsy got a sticker for her trophy case.

We’ve had a bit of trouble here and there, but nothing I wouldn’t expect from a nineteen-year-old car (she was manufactured in Germany in August, 2000). Less than I’d expect, really.

I can’t brag on her enough, and she’s earned every damned one of those stickers on her ass.
