I’ve always loved getting up to watch the sunrise, at least since my late teenage years. I love all the deep blue and purple hues of the sky when they’ve got that thin horizontal band of orange and red to the east.
Over the weekend I was kindly invited along on a birthday getaway, and we got to visit the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The cabin was beautiful, the Titanic Museum was fun, and the mountains were gorgeous.
But there just isn’t anything as beautiful as a sunrise in a clean, clear sky, no matter where I’m standing.
